Hoochie
A manufactured social tribe.
Hoochies are a corporate niche, a public need created where none existed beforehand. Unlike the likes and interests of other subcultural social tribes, hoochies’ interests are drawn not from the underground, but from profit-driven capitalist oligarchies above. This form of cultural engineering makes for very simplistic values, as hoochies only adhere to the latest trends of corporate consumer-wear (see Label tart/whore).
Thus, the desire for materialistic upkeep forces hoochies to needlessly follow whatever has been chosen for them as the ‘Next Big Thing’ that they absolutely must pay lots of money for, in their ongoing pursuit of status, popularity, and style over substance.
